I learned the phrase “Work with the Willing” from Barbara Winter. I don’t know if she made it up, but it is a great piece of advice for all Inspired Entrepreneurs. You followed your heart into business and at times you feel like you are alone listening to a different drummer. I am hear to tell you that Other beat is the root of great music, the source of syncopation. Sometimes the Willing are your raving fans. Sometimes they are folks who are just plain curious. Discovering the Willing is niche hunting at its best. It is like discovering gems in the mountainside.
As much as it might look like it,
I bet
the WHOLE world
is not against you.
Nothing is that absolute.
Nothing is the only thing that is that absolute.
And yet, even when it seems there is nothing…
there is some thing.
I bet
there are some
who support you,
even if they dare not breathe it aloud.
Work with the willing.
Work with the willing, even if
they seem to be from the wrong camp
or a weird fringe.
Make safe spaces
for those are summoning their courage
to speak with you
or to you.
Keep breathing.
Keep praying.
Keep on watching
for the way to open.
And always find ways
to tap into those places in your body
that house the desire
to do what you do.
Let your body wisdom
guide you.
